Welcome to Cowick Barton

Exeter Devon

Welcome to the Cowick Barton, Exeter.

A major £350,000 investment has seen the Cowick Barton sympathetically rejuvenated and become a beautiful pub to visit. The history of the building stretches back to 1540 and great care has been taken to retain and repair the original Tudor features such as the magnificent fireplaces and flagstone floors.

We have redecorated the lounge, the dining room, the bar and the function room. We have kept and restored all the original wooden beams, fixed the chimneys and added a touch a modern design with new furniture and lighting.

We all very much look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones to share some great times and experiences here at the Cowick Barton.

We promise to always do our very best to provide you with great service and a delicious pub experience.

Pub & Dining

The Cowick is run by industry award winning hospitality professional and chef Luke Davies, who has moved with his family from North Wales to Devon to put his skills and knowledge to the test in his first solo business venture following a 21 year hospitality industry career having trained hundreds of publicans and pub chefs across the country.

The Davies family have all had a part to play in the design of the new look Cowick Barton. Will, Charlie-Bob and little Annie quickly decided Dad wasn’t cutting the mustard creating a yummy enough kids menu so they helped out with some great top tips and advice! They’ve been a great help considering Will the eldest is only eleven!
